Cringe! Gwyneth Paltrow raps and 'booty shakes' on Ellen DeGeneres show

Gwyneth Paltrow is not afraid to try her hand at anything - be it acting, cooking or singing.
But despite the mulit-talented star's best efforts, it appears spontaneous dancing is not her forte.
The 38-year-old appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show today and performed with the host during her opening monologue.

But Gwyneth, who is close friends with Beyonce, perhaps should have got a few dancing tips from her her bootylicious pal before trying to shake her stuff on national television.
Ellen began the playful segment by noting how unrealistic it was when people burst into song during musical shows like Glee.
But the actress, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, argued otherwise.

So Ellen asked her what song she would spontaneously go into if she were watching The Biggest Loser on her sofa.
Gwyneth then got into 'booty-shaking' mode, launching into Sir Mix A Lot's Baby Got Back.
She rapped the a sample of the lyrics - which include 'I like big buts and I can not lie' - while wiggling her derrière.
The Oscar winner recently found out that she has heritage from the Caribbean island of Barbados on genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are? - but it appears she did not have any of the island rhythm passed down to her.

The chat show host then challenged her to sing a song that would apply if she was watching 'one of those birthing shows on the Discovery channel'.
The mother-of-two then started groaning singing: 'Aaah push it. Push it good', from Salt n' Pepa's Eighties hit to a rapturous applause from the audience.
She then sang Burn Baby Burn about a toaster and Sexy Thing to Ellen's resident DJ Tony.
During the interview, Gwyneth talked about the possibility of having a proper singing career aside from on television and film appearances.

'Well, I haven’t signed anything but I’m thinking about it. I kind of have to get my head around the concept of it and how I would want to do it. Do it in a right way.
'It’s hard to think of switching because all the signing I’ve been doing has been coming out of Country Strong or Glee.
'So I think, how would I do that? Just a record by myself feels a little scary to me. I would like to in theory but we’ll see', she said.
Ellen asked Gwyneth about her two children Apple, seven, and Moses, five.
The producers mistakenly put up photographs of children that appear in Gwyneth's book but were not her little ones.

They finally got it right and showed a picture of Gwyneth in the kitchen with the two children but only showing the back of their heads as she is fiercely protective of the privacy of her children.
Gwyneth is currently publicising her cook book My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family & Togetherness.
It includes her favourite family recipes and shares personal stories of her father Bruce, who died in 2002 and inspired her to cook.
