It's out with the old and in with the new at Louis Vuitton as 16-year-old student is named face of fashion label

A 16-year-old who won her modelling contract in a competition has been announced as the new face of Louis Vuitton.
Nyasha Maronhodze entered the modelling world just two years ago after winning the UK Elite Model Look competition in 2009.
The student was scouted in the street in her Northamptonshire hometown by the model agency and invited down to London to take part in the contest.

Rise to fame: Nyasha was scouted by model agency Elite in her home town of Northamptonshire - and turned up for her first casting in her school uniform

The schoolgirl, who arrived for her first casting wearing her school uniform - experienced a meteoric rise through the echelons of the fashion industry, with an impressive debut season that saw her walking for shows including Louise Gray, Clements Ribeiro, Jonathan Saunders during London Fashion Week SS11 as well as Loewe, Emanuel Ungaro, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Louis Vuitton in Paris.
And now, the industry newcomer models couture clothes from Louis Vuitton's latest collection in a slick advertising campaign art directed by the label's creative head, Marc Jacobs and shot by world-renowned fashion photographer Stephen Meisel.
Youth trumps experience in the latest campaign as the Zimbabwe-born student, along with a group of five young pretenders, replace their more mature counterparts as the new faces for the fashion house.
The rest of the youthful line up includes models Zuzanna Bijoch, 17, Daphne Groeneveld 16, Gertrud Hegelund, 20, Anaïs Pouliot, 19, and Fei Fei Sun, 21 - who together have an average age of 18.
The girls take over from Kristen McMenamy, 46, Raquel Zimmermann, 28, and Freja Beha Erichsen, 23, who for the past two seasons have brought an elegant touch of maturity and sophistication to Louis Vuitton's campaigns.
Uma Thurman, now 41, and Madonna, 52, have also starred in past campaigns.

Of the new campaign, Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Marc Jacobs says: 'Steven Meisel and I met and decided we would do this wonderful story of beautiful vintage cars, little dogs and fresh-faced young women.
'It's a very classic scenario, and of course it suggests travel, but I think we gave it a fresh, modern and sometimes a little bit naughty, tongue-in-cheek spin.'
The resulting nine images showcase the season's star accessories – among them shiny rubber boots, shearling officer's caps and glazed lambskin gloves – as well as new takes on the iconic Lockit handbag, including the Extraordinaire clutch in alligator with its diamond-paved padlock and handcuff.
'Who wouldn't want to be this gorgeous young woman in the back seat of this beautiful car?' Marc Jacobs says of the campaign.
'And wherever she's going, she's dressed in style this season by Louis Vuitton.'

Daleks to be 'exterminated': Iconic mutants to be given 'a rest' by Doctor Who bosses

The iconic mutant race that terrified generations of children will not be causing youngsters - or adults - to hide behind the sofa for a very long time.
The Daleks are being given 'a rest,' Doctor Who bosses announced today.
The fictional creatures, voted the all-time greatest monster last year, have been defeated too many time and would have 'trudged away' by now, executive producer Steven Moffat says.

'They aren't going to make an appearance for a while,' Moffat told the Radio Times. 'We thought it was about time to give them a rest.'
'There's a problem with the Daleks. They are the most famous of the Doctor's adversaries and the most frequent, which means they are the most reliably defeatable enemies in the universe.
'They have been defeated by the Doctor about 400 times. Surely they should just see the Tardis approaching, say, "Oh. It's him again", and trudge away.'

Jersey Shore star Snooki loses driving licence after car crash that left two Italian police officers in hospital

Jersey Shore star Snooki has lost her driving licence after being involved in a car crash that put two police officers in an Italian hospital.
Snooki, real name Nicole Polizzi, 23, was behind the wheel of Fiat Multipla with co-star Deena in the passenger seat beside her when the fender bender happened.
She was breath tested at the scene - but not drugs tested - and then taken to a local police station when it emerged she did not have any documents with her when questioned.

The prang happened in the Renaissance city of Florence where the hit MTV show is filming its fourth series which will be screened in the United States later this year.
Police said that Snooki rammed into the side of a police car that was escorting them around the city and the rush hour impact then forced her into a concrete road barrier.
Although she is unlikely to face a criminal prosecution she could be taken to court in a civil action by the two police officers - a man and a woman - who were injured in the crash.

They had to be taken to hospital by ambulance and were seen being placed onto stretchers after suffering from whiplash injuries, cuts and bruising brought on by the seatbelt.
Although they were not seriously hurt they have been signed off work and now have 90 days to decide whether to take civil action against Snooki for any damage caused.
The two have both been released from the orthopaedic trauma unit of the Careggi hospital in Florence although neither will be able to work for at least a week.

Mario Rondinelli, a Florence police spokesman, said:'It was a minor accident but two police officers were taken to hospital suffering from slight injuries.
'It was nothing serious and they have been released but they will not be back at work for a week. The Italian law states that if a person is injured in an accident then the other person deemed to have caused the accident loses their licence.
'It will be for a minimum of 15 days although the Florence police chief has the ultimate decision on the length of time and he will look at the file over the next few days.
'It's unlikely that there will be a criminal case as it was a very minor accident but the two colleagues involved could decide on a civil case which is their right.'
Mr Rondinelli added that Snooki had been breath tested as a matter of caution but this had proved negative and he said that she had not been tested for drugs.
There were initial reports that Snooki had been arrested but this was not the case - instead when it was discovered she had no driving documents with her she was taken to a nearby police station to wait for them to arrive. When they first arrived in Italy almost three weeks ago the guys managed to rack up more than 300 Euro worth of fines for various traffic violations and at press conference they even said driving in the city was difficult.
The crash brought chaos to the centre of Florence bringing the rush hour traffic to a standstill as onlookers in passing cars slowed down to see what all the fuss was.
